CEO Tarang Amin leads with a commitment to make beauty accessible for all and to democratize access to opportunity.

Social Capital values not only permeate e.l.f. Beauty’s company operations, one of our core values is front and center in its messaging — taking the company’s “eyes.lips.face.” to also emphasize its commitment to “empowering.legendary.females.” Chairman and CEO Tarang Amin makes his and the company’s commitment clear in the most recent annual Impact Report: “Our work to elevate women and diverse voices to the highest seats of power and our deep commitment to empowering.legendary.females. are year-round priorities.”

Noting the company is purpose-led and results-driven with a mission “to make the best of beauty accessible to every eye, lip and face,” Tarang cites “living our vision to be a different kind of company by building brands that disrupt norms, shape culture and connect communities through positivity, inclusivity and accessibility” as he reports e.l.f. Beauty “delivered our 26th consecutive quarter of net-sales and market-share growth, the only brand of the nearly 1,000 cosmetics brands tracked by Nielsen to be able to say that.” (And the growth continues, as the company recently released its Q3 FY26 report remarking 28 consecutive quarters of net sales growth.) It’s also worth noting that every e.l.f. employee, everywhere in the world, receives equity in the company every year.

With a stated purpose “to make the world a better place for every eye, lip and face,” the company emphasizes action, “committing boldly and passionately,” Tarang says, “as a catalyst for positive change.” He refers to the company’s “passionate team of owners” as he describes its High Performance Team culture as one that “prioritizes passionate relationships, healthy conflict and mutual accountability.”

He shared further insights with us.

Social Capital Team: How do you make sure that, at every level of the company, everyone’s voice and concerns are heard in a real and practical way?

Tarang: A High Performance Teamwork culture only works when people feel empowered and connected to the organization. We create regular, open forums where people can ask questions and share ideas, from town halls and leadership Q&As to ongoing feedback loops within teams.

Just as important, we act on what we hear. When people see their input shaping decisions and put into action, it reinforces ownership and trust. We say, “One Team, One Dream,” and we mean it; accountability comes from caring about one another and the business we all own.

Social Capital Team: With the many new challenges facing today’s employees, what does “empowering employees” mean to you?

Tarang: Some of my earliest lessons about empowerment came from working in my family’s motel. I saw firsthand that when you trust people and treat them like partners in the business, they take pride in their work and care about the business as much as you do. That sense of ownership makes all the difference.

Social Capital Team: How do you put it into practice?

Tarang: That lesson has stayed with me. Today, empowering employees means creating an ownership mindset. At e.l.f. Beauty, every employee is a shareholder, and we operate as a High Performance Team where accountability and collaboration go hand and hand. This creates an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, taking smart risks and bringing their whole selves to work.

Editors’ Note: Throughout this process, Tarang Amin was exceptionally open and responsive to our outreach. At a time when e.l.f. Beauty is growing like gangbusters delivering industry-leading performance and market-share growth, his accessibility reflects the same empowerment and inclusivity he champions inside the company. That willingness of both him and his team to make time, even amid extraordinary momentum, underscores the authenticity of the values he describes throughout this conversation. Our thanks to  you, Tarang, and to the amazing team you lead!
